Time-Slip Street Portraits

Street photography is a classic and well traveled genre, so I felt challenged to express my own vision of what I see and feel. Certain elements have been part of street photography for years: people rushing from place to place, responding to street signs and signals and avoiding cars, buses and trains. What I want to capture is the delicate motion and pace of people within a composition framed by the harsh downtown urban architecture. We move instinctively between other people and obstacles on the sidewalks mechanically and by rote memory driven by a fear of time, delays or interruptions, and being late for our next appointment. My images visualize this pace for all types of people in motion on our streets.
